Manchester City fullback Danilo says they're ready to face down Manchester United in this season's title battle.

Danilo believes United will be the team to push City - but insists they won't be the only one.

“I would also include other teams in the list of contenders," he said. “Apart from Manchester United and us, there are other great teams with great players in the Premier League. That's what makes this league a great competition.

“It's exciting for the league that two big teams for the same city are fighting for the trophy, it's also a big motivation for us, but the most important thing is to keep focus in ourselves. Work hard in every game, do the things we need to do in the right way and wait for the other teams to lose points along the way.

“When you see Man City's squad with lots of quality players, the experience mixed with the youth we have, that can only give us confidence for all the challenges we have to face this season.

“We are aware about the difficulty of the task, we know that every week we are going to have more games in our legs, we will be more tired, there will be unexpected things along the way, but hopefully we will be able to fight for all the trophies and manage to win as much as possible."
