Manchester City fullback Wayne Bridge has suffered a new setback.
The News of the World says Bridge could be ruled out of Manchester City's first game of the season at Tottenham with a broken toe.
The Eastlands left back suffered the injury in training on Friday and has been told by City's fitness team that he may be forced to sit out the first few weeks of the campaign.
Former England defender Bridge is determined to stay at City and fight for his first team place, despite the arrival of Lazio left back Alexsandr Kolarov. The former Chelsea and Southampton star is also reluctant to walk away from his lucrative £90,000 a week contract at City.
