Manchester City have been forced to sell Turkey international Enes Unal because of work permit technicalities.
The 20-year signed a five-year deal with La Liga side Villarreal after a £12m fee was agreed between the clubs.
And now, the Daily Star has revealed that because Unal has not played in at least 45% of his home nation's games, he has been unable to secure a work permit in England.
City will have the opportunity to acquire the youngster again as a £17.5m buy-back clause was included in his new contract.
