Man City flop Mangala ready to replace injured Stones

Manchester City defender Eliaqium Mangala insists he is ready to replace the injured John Stones.

Stones is expected to miss 4-6 weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in City's win over Leicester City on Saturday.

And Mangala, who City paid Porto €30.5m for in 2014, is confident he can take his opportunity despite having made just four appearances for the Sky Blues this season.

"John is injured now," said Mangala, speaking prior to City's Champions League clash with Feyenoord.

"It goes like that. You have to try and take your opportunity. We need more than 11 players - it's not just about me. There are so many games.

"I'm very realistic. I'm going to work and try to help my teammates. When you are in the squad, you have to help the team. We want to help City to win the title and win trophies."
