Manchester City are fighting to keep Patrick Vieira away from Nice.
Currently in charge of City's MLS franchise New York City FC, Vieira is said to be in advanced talks with Nice about succeeding their head coach Lucien Favre.
However, Nice-Matin says City have intervened, urging Vieira to turn OGCN down.
The Frenchman has been assured he will eventually succeed Pep Guardiola as City manager. However, after the Catalan extended terms to 2021, Vieira has told City he doesn't want to be left waiting.
As such, Vieira's negotiations with Nice will continue this week.
