Manchester City face an uphill battle trying to prise David Luiz away from Benfica.
O Jogo says City have made a new £30 million offer for the young Brazilian, which still falls well short of his £42 million buyout clause.
Benfica would be prepared to sell if Luiz demanded a move, but the defender is cool on the idea of a move to Eastlands.
Luiz doesn't want to leave Benfica for a club outside the Champions League and also has been assured by his Portuguese employers that he will soon be offered an improved contract.
