Manchester City face competition from Real Madrid for Sevilla midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.

The 20 year-old Frenchman has been watched extensively by City scout Rob Newman since the New Year and is expected to attract a bid from the Premier League champs in the coming weeks.

However, El Economista says Real Madrid are ready to compete with City for Kondogbia as they see the youngster as a long -term successor for Xabi Alonso.
