A controversial return to England could be on for Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu.

Leggo says Manchester City are exploring the prospect of bringing the Romania international back to England in January.

Mutu has fallen out with Fiorentina management after several off-the-field indiscretions and dropping off the first team map of coach Cesare Prandelli.

Chelsea's compo demands are still hanging over the striker, however, City have sent out feelers about the prospect of Mutu returning to England.
