Man City boss expects Sterling and Hart to miss 'three or four weeks'

Manchester City have lost both Joe Hart and Raheem Sterling for up to a month.

Both players suffered injuries during City's 1-0 defeat to local rivals Manchester United at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

Winger Sterling injured his groin during the first half of the game while goalkeeper Hart was stretchered off in the second half due to a calf injury.

Following the game, City manager Manuel Pellegrini told Sky Sports: "Muscle injuries are never less than a month."

In his press conference, he put the recovery period at three-to-four weeks: "I don't think you can recover from a muscle injury in one week, normally it takes three or four weeks so I don't think they can play."

Based on this timescale, City are likely to miss the duo for their Champions League quarter-final encounters with Paris Saint-Germain on April 6 and 12.
