Man City discuss meeting €200M buyout clause in Messi's Barcelona deal

Manchester City are weighing up the prospect of meeting Lionel Messi's buyout clause in his Barcelona contract this summer. City, with former Barcelona chiefs Txiki Begiristain and Ferran Soriano now driving football matters, have been keeping a close watch on Messi's, at times, tense relationship with the Barca board.

El Confidencial says City could meet the eye-watering reported €200m buyout clause in the Argentine's contract this summer.

It would then be up to Messi and his advisors as to whether they wish to enter into negotiations with City.

City fullback Pablo Zabaleta admits his Argentina captain is always asking him about life at the Premier League giants.

And it's been revealed Messi follows the official City Instagram account.
