Manchester City deny claims of a bust-up between Stephen Ireland and manager Roberto Mancini.

The Sun says with a raft of midfielders arriving at Eastlands this summer, the Irishman has been told he may as well find a new club - unless he can buck his ideas up.

He was made captain for the friendly against New York Red Bulls last night but failed to appear for the second half.

City sources insist there has been no bust-up between manager and player but a parting of the ways looks inevitable.
