Manchester City want a straight cash deal for Carlos Tevez.
The Mail on Sunday says City have insisted they want a straight cash deal for Tevez rather than a swap involving Inter Milan striker Samuel Eto'o.
City boss Roberto Mancini distanced himself exchanging his captain for Eto'o even though both clubs are in Dublin to play each other in a pre-season tournament.
City will let their Argentine top scorer leave after his regular complaints about living in Manchester and transfer request that was handed in last January.
But, unless a club offer £50million, Mancini expects the 27-year-old to report for pre-season training on Thursday after being given time off to recover from the Copa America.
