Manchester City fullback Pablo Zabaleta is convinced Alvaro Negredo will make a big impact.

The former Sevilla striker has agreed a move to City.

The former Espanyol defender said: "Negredo is someone I've played against - he's a good striker. A typical No9. I'd say he is similar to Edin Dzeko, a tall player.

"He works very well inside the box or drops deep to receive the ball when he has to.

"He's scored many goals every season in Spain. He did well at Almeria and Sevilla.

"If he's the one we bring in then it will be because the manager has 100 per cent confidence about him and I would expect him to do well."
