Manchester City defender Micah Richards is set to move to Newcastle United this summer.

According to the Daily Star, the Toon are expected to finally appoint Steve McClaren as manager this week with the former England boss set to make free agent Richards one of his first signings for the club.

The recently-sacked Derby County manager made Richards a regular member of his squad when he was in charge of the Three Lions.

Richards is set to leave the Etihad Stadium for free in the summer after spending last season on loan at Fiorentina.
