Man City defender Richards says England competition intense at right-back

Manchester City defender Micah Richards feels under constant pressure to keep his England place.

He acknowledges the competition for the right-back role is not quite as weak as many would claim.

"People always say there aren't many right-backs," he said. "But Chris Smalling is doing a good job for Manchester United. I rate Glen Johnson and Kyle Walker's been doing very well.

"I think I'm twice the player I was when I made my England debut at 19.

"There's no reason I can't get in there but it's about biding my time."
