Manchester City defender Micah Richards says thrashing Manchester United was his happiest moment in football.

Richards, who took home the television Man of the Match champagne, was thrilled with the 6-1 win.

"I have never been happier on a football pitch at the end of a game," he told City's website. "You have to remember that they were down to 10-men but it was unbelievable. We defended really well as a unit and team when we had to.

"It is what dreams are made of and I am sure it has made a few of our fans' dreams come true. We hope they are all happy."
