Manchester City defender Karim Rekik hopes to extend is stay with PSV Eindhoven into next season.

Rekik is on-loan with PSV this campaign.

"I had a conversation with City and they have stated that they want to renew my contract and that they want me next season to spend somewhere else," Rekik told De Telegraaf.

"It is still open where City would like to loan me out, but I have enjoyed my time at PSV. Here I know what I have. The people are also top notch.

"It is definitely an option for me to come back another year. Finally, I also depend on what Manchester City want. But if PSV play in the Champions League, it is not only interesting for me, but also for City."
