Manchester City defender Ryan McGivern has been handed a new contract.

The Mirror says Roberto Mancini has rewarded McGivern with a new contract - and then loaned him out to Bristol City.

Northern Ireland international McGivern has agreed a two-year extension with Manchester City after impressing Mancini in pre-season.

And now the 21-year-old, who has just spent a month at Crystal Palace, will be joining the Robins on loan for the rest of the season.
