Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott is delighted to be back in the England frame.
Lescott is keen to become established at international level and Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand's absence against Bulgaria will give him another chance to stake a claim.
He said: "It helps when you are playing more games at club level. I was playing more at the end of last season as well although I'm taking nothing for granted.
"Kolo (Toure) is back now from suspension and there is strength in depth. We are all confident we can perform in any given game.
"Playing week out will help the international chances but it's not just me with the likes of Phil Jagielka, Gary Cahill and Chris Smalling here.
"You can't rest on your laurels. I'm not an established member of this team yet. That is a goal and hopefully that will be in the future.
"JT (John Terry) and Rio are first choice and there are a few of us want to try and be part of the team."
