Real Madrid are eyeing Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala.

The Daily Star says the France international has impressed during his season-long loan at Valencia, who are dragging their heels on an £18million deal.

That has left the door open for Madrid, who have watched Mangala a number of times in La Liga recently.

The City man – signed for £32m in 2014 – initially failed to impress the hierarchy at the Mestalla, just as he did at City when arriving from Porto.
