Manchester City defender Jerome Boateng says he has agreed terms with Bayern Munich.

Boateng says Bayern will use him at his preferred position of centre-back rather than full-back, where he played for City.

"It is true that I have agreed with Bayern on a four-year deal," he said. "Now it is up to Manchester to make it work. At the moment they are making things a bit difficult.

"It is about the position. Bayern want me as a central defender."
