Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson is ready to snap up Italian goalkeeper prospect Marco Antonelli.

The News of the World says Eriksson has handed the Italian prospect a trial period after receiving rave notices from his contacts.

Antonelli, 17, is tipped for a big future since breaking through at lowly Serie D outfit Sestese. The starlet has also attracted the interest of top clubs in his homeland and would command a fee of around £200,000 with future add-ons.
