Sergio Aguero is determined to make Manchester City's Champions League opener against Real Madrid.

Aguero has been out for a month with a knee injury but wants to play at Stoke on Saturday to prove he is ready for next Tuesday's Champions League clash with Real Madrid.

Aguero used to play for Real's bitter rivals Atletico, but said: "I was never on the winning side against them so let's hope with City we can beat them. "It will be difficult. Right now Real and Barcelona are among the best teams in the world, but we have a great team too."
