Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that he was hesitant to use striker Sergio Aguero against Juventus due to his knee injury.
Aguero made a late recovery from his problem to make City's squad for Tuesday night's eventual Champions League loss to Juventus but could only manage a substitute appearance in the 83rd minute.
Pellegrini said: "It was a risk to use him.
"I tried not to because if he got a kick in the same part it could take him more days to recover. Fortunately he did not have any problems and I hope he will be fit for Saturday."
City, who host West Ham United on the weekend, lost the game 2-1 to the Italian club.
