Manchester City are locked in talks today for Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini.

While City boss Sven Goran Eriksson unveiled new defensive signings Vedran Corluka and Javi Garrido yesterday, Turin sources insist negotiations were continuing with Juve for Chiellini.

City's last offer for the Italy U21 captain was for £8.5 million, while Juve are insisting on £10 million. It's understood a compromise could be struck as early as today.
