Manchester City have confirmed this morning that talks are continuing regarding a takeover bid.

"The board of Manchester City can confirm we are now in advanced discussions with interested parties that may or may not lead to an offer being made for the company," said the statement to the Stock Exchange.

"A further announcement will be made in due course as appropriate."

Thaksin Shinawatra remains favourite to complete a City buyout.
