Former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard is set to extend his stay with Manchester City.
The People says the former England midfield star's loan deal at the Etihad runs out in two weeks but he now looks certain to extent his stay until the end of March.
Talks have been ongoing between the Blues and New York City - the MLS club they co-own who signed Lampard after he was freed by Chelsea at the end of last season - and official confirmation is expected within the next few days.
Manuel Pellegrini wants to make full use of Lampard, a winner of the Champions League with Chelsea, for at least one more round.
The MLS season begins in March and though Man City would like to keep Lampard for the rest of their English campaign, New York are likely to want him back for the start of their domestic season.
