Manchester City remain confident of the capture of Barcelona superstar Ronaldinho.

Reports in Brazil have suggested Ronaldinho has rejected City's approach, but a club insider told the Sunday Mirror: "The talks were productive and we are still confident a deal can be done.

"Ronaldinho has not rejected anything, but it has become clear that because of his various sponsorship contracts it's going to be a very complicated process."

City are looking at a number of sponsorship options which would allow enable them to match Ronaldinho's £200,000-aweek wage demands.

But that means plotting a legal route through the various deals the Brazilian already has in place.
