Patrick Vieira has fueled speculation regarding his potential move to Newcastle United.

With John Carver all but set to be released, Newcastle are currently on the lookout for a new manager and among many names linked to the hot seat at St James' Park, Vieira has been the most eye catching.

Despite having no prior experience of managing in the Premier League, many Newcastle fans are backing the pursuit of Vieira and now the Manchester City coach has hinted that he could well consider taking over the reins of the North East club by stating that his favourite stadium is St. James' Park.

The former Arsenal captain said: "My favourite stadium I have played in in this country I have to say is Newcastle.

"I like Newcastle's stadium. I love the atmosphere and I like the way the stadium is built and I loved playing there."
