Manchester City coach David Platt insists talk of tension inside the club is the stuff of media hype.

Platt says he and manager Roberto Mancini are surprised by the current storm, which comes just six months after City were crowned champions.

He said: "If this is what happens to champions, then terrific. If it escalates because you win the league, then I hope it continues to escalate."
