Manchester City coach David Platt says new signing Matija Nastasic is ready for his Premier League debut.

The 19-year-old Serb was a shock choice by manager Roberto Mancini as the Blues faced Real Madrid in their Champions League opener on Tuesday night.

"People said to me before the game it was a brave decision by the manager to pick him, but I don't think it was brave - he just has belief in him," said Platt.
