Manchester City coach David Platt insists Joleon Lescott is part of manager Roberto Mancini's plans.

Platt underlined the fact that Lescott remains an integral part of their planning for this season.

"Joleon stepped in against Sunderland and did what has always done," he said. "People keep levelling things but the gaffer has talked about how important he is on several occasions."
