Manchester City assistant coach Brian Kidd has welcomed manager Manuel Pellegrini's backroom appointments.

Kidd was kept on by the Chilean following his arrival from Malaga.

"The boss is very experienced, having managed at the top level. He won't be overawed and his preparation has been superb.

"His backroom staff of Ruben Cousillas, Xabier Mancisidor and Jose Cabello have been tremendous. I have been really impressed with them."
