Manchester City coach Angelo Gregucci has played down talk of a bid for AS Roma midfielder Daniele de Rossi.

City boss Roberto Mancini is said to have demanded De Rossi's signing in January.

But Gregucci says: "Right now, no negotiations are under way for De Rossi .

"Manchester City made its most important offer last summer, but Roma refused. The issue closed on 31 August 2012. The proposed figure? I would not say even under torture."
