Manchester City are wrapping up a deal for Inter Milan fullback Douglas Maicon.

The Daily Mail says City pushed through the Maicon deal on Thursday night. The Brazilian, 31, does not fit the City squad's age profile, but manager Roberto Mancini was granted an exception after talking so highly of a player he worked with at San Siro.

But his pursuit of Daniele De Rossi has ended with Roma refusing to sell.
