Manchester City chief Patrick Vieira is hoping for big things from Owen Hargreaves.

Vieira says he has no doubts that if the player has conquered the injury problems which have dogged him for four seasons, he will be an asset.

"Owen is a good player," said Vieira. "He's been unlucky with the injuries he's suffered in the last few years but he's a good player and there is no doubt about his talent. He can be successful for this football club.

"He's got the experience. He's won the Champions League and he's been successful, and that experience can only help the football club."
