Manchester City Elite Development Squad manager Patrick Vieira has slammed English football's youth development.
Vieira says the game needs someone coaching the coaches at grassroots level.
"In English football, the grassroots football has taken time to change the way young players train and play," Vieira told the Daily Mail. "When you look at the quality of players you have had in this country, it is unbelievable. You are talking about Gerrard, Scholes, all these outstanding players.
"The game has changed, now. The coaching and the grassroots have to change as well."
