Man City chief Vieira: Arsenal are shot of self-confidence

Manchester City chief Patrick Vieira says there's a confidence crisis at Arsenal.

Arsenal crashed to a 3-1 defeat to the formidable Bayern Munich in the first leg of their round of 16 Champion League tie.

Vieira, now Football Development Executive at Manchester City, said the players need to trust in their "fantastic" ability to start winning trophies again.

"With Arsenal, it's always up and down. When Arsenal have a good day, they can beat any team in the world," he told FA TV.

"But maybe they lack consistency to win silverware. When you look at the Arsenal starting XI they are fantastic players, but they may need to believe in themselves more that they can win something.

"Maybe that's why they haven't achieved the height of their potential."
