Manchester City sports chief Txiki Begiristain is planning a massive clearout.

Sport says Begiristain is unimpressed by the balance and overloaded nature of City's squad and is determined to trim it substantially over the next two transfer windows.

Reducing the wage bill will also help City compete at the top end of the transfer market while adhering to UEFA's new Financial Fair Play laws.
