Manchester City are joining the battle for Valencia defender Nicolas Otamendi.

The Mirror says City are considering a move for United target Otamendi.

United have already registered their interest in the Valencia centre-back who also a candidate for Real Madrid with continuing uncertainty over Sergio Ramos.

Although centre-back position has not been one that City have been looking at primarily, the club are keen on 27-year-old Otamendi and are monitoring his situation.

Valencia are understood to have identified Marseille's Nicolas N'Koulou as a possible replacement.
