Manchester City and Manchester United are battling Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas. The Daily Mail says City are set to rival United for the signing of former Arsenal captain Fabregas this summer.
While Manchester United continue to monitor the situation with Fabregas on a list of potential targets Ed Woodward wants to discuss with Louis van Gaal when he is confirmed as David Moyes replacement next week, the Red Devils could face competition from rivals City.
City's technical director Txiki Begiristain is known to remain a huge admirer of Fabregas and would reportedly "sign him with his eyes closed" should the opportunity present itself.
