Man City chairman Khaldoon: We won't be mucked around in transfer market

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has warned they will not be "screwed" in the transfer market.

Khaldoon, City owner Sheikh Mansour's right-hand man, pointed to the club's firm stance on Carlos Tevez and their refusal to accept a £20m cut-price offer from AC Milan in the transfer January window as evidence of their determination.

City will refuse to slash their valuations for unwanted loan stars Emmanuel Adebayor, Wayne Bridge and Roque Santa Cruz just to get them off the books.

And with UEFA's financial fair play regulations looming, they will balk at paying inflated fees for targets such as Van Persie.

Khaldoon said: "We cannot allow ourselves to be mucked around. We are not rich people to be taken advantage of."
