Man City chairman drops Mendy hint: Fullback is a necessity for Pep

Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has confirmed that Pep Guardiola is keen on signing quality fullback's during the summer transfer window.

City have released Pablo Zabaleta, Bacary Sagna, Gael Clichy and Jesus Navas following the end of the recent Premier League campaign and it is clear to see that the Citizens now need to bring in reinforcements in the full-back positions this summer.

City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has recently been speaking regarding manager Pep Guardiola's transfer plans and has confirmed that the Spaniard is currently on the lookout for both left and right sided defenders.

Al Mubarak said: "Full-back, it is clear, both on the right and the left, are areas that require investment from our side. Pep relies heavily on that position.

"Pep knows what he wants and who he wants. I hope we are successful in bringing in the players he needs."
