Manchester City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has told Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson that Carlos Tevez will prove value for money.

Ferguson claimed that Tevez "wasn't worth the money" after his move to City in July.

Al Mubarak said: "Sir Alex commented on the price that we paid for Carlos Tevez and Mark's response to that was spot on.

"The value of Tevez to Manchester City is different to the value of Tevez to Manchester United. That's the reality of football today."
