Manchester City captain Carlos Tevez has laughed off comparisons with Diego Maradona.
Roberto Mancini has turned a maverick into his first lieutenant, even suggesting that Tevez can inspire City as the great Maradona once did as captain of Napoli.
Tevez smiled and said: "There is only one Maradona and only ever will be one. So that's a leap of faith, really.
"But on my own game the captaincy will have a positive effect. Sometimes a striker can drift out of a game for 10 minutes and then come back into it.
"Now that I am captain I can't afford to do that. You have to be 100 per cent concentrated all the time."
