Manchester City captain Carlos Tevez admits he came close to signing for Chelsea last year.
But he insists he has no regrets about opting for Manchester City over Carlo Ancelotti's Londoners.
Tevez, 26, whose side host the champions, said: "We can challenge Chelsea for the title.
"We can face them on an equal footing because of what happened last season. We beat them twice.
"When Man United didn't want me, I had a conversation with Ancelotti but there was never any concrete offer.
"I only ever talk about proper, written offers - and that was the case with City."
