Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany insists their derby defeat to Manchester United is no psychological setback.
Kompany is adamant it will not have a lasting effect on his side.
"I don't know anything about a psychological blow," Kompany, speaking during a visit to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, told talkSPORT.
"It doesn't change anything. It's a game we lost and we move on to the next game.
"The beauty about football is you can always challenge, whether you lost or won the next game is always the most important and that's Newcastle now.
"The past is the past and you have always got to go and prove yourself again. That's going to be the case in all the derbies in the future."
