Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany has denied claims that he is looking to purchase Stockport.
Reports in the English media had suggested that he was part of a Belgian consortium that would buy the non-league club.
Kompany is known for having a degree in Business Administration, which would stand him in good stead for being a club owner.
But he denied the claims.
Kompany said to the Daily Mail: "There is speculation and there are rumours about Stockport but at the moment it is completely unfounded."
