Douglas Costa's suggestion that Manchester City's Pep Guardiola cannot sign any Bayern Munich players is believed to be incorrect.
The Daily Mail reports that the Brazilian's recent comments in Globo Esporte, regarding Guardiola having a clause in his contract prohibiting him from signing Bayern players, are wide of the mark.
Costa, who joined Bayern from Shakhtar Donetsk last summer, said: “Would I be open to City if Pep called? It's something he has in his contract, a clause that says he cannot sign any players from Bayern."
However, it is understood that Guardiola is indeed free to pursue and sign players from his former club if he sees fit as there is no such clause in his contract at City.
Additionally, The Independent has reported that City 'have since denied Costa's claim and insisted that there are no contractual restrictions on signings this summer'.
