Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is unsure if David Silva will be fit for the return leg of the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid next week.

The Spanish midfielder was forced off with a thigh strain after just 40 minutes of Tuesday night's goalless draw at the Etihad Stadium and is now in doubt for the trip to the Santiago Bernabeu next Wednesday.

The Chilean said of Silva: "David had a slight strain in his thigh.

"It is difficult to say now (if he will be back). It is quite tough for him to recover in one week.

"We will have a clearer picture tomorrow."
